Dear China Security recipient, We want to alert you of a significant change in the China Security website that will be implemented over the coming days. In order to continue producing the journal, we can no longer offer all of our content for free. From this point forward we will need to draw on the support of those who use and value China Security. Though some articles will continue to be freely available, a portion of our content will only be accessible for paid subscribers. The modest price we are now asking readers to pay will help us cover the basic cost of producing the journal and also to continue improving the content we offer.China Security now goes out in electronic form to over 20,000 people in addition to 1,500 hard copies sent free of charge. Currently, less than 1 percent of all China Security readers support the publication; to those of you who have already given funds or subscribed this year—THANK YOU! I appeal to those that have not done so to help keep us operating. Our budget for this valuable publication is kept to a bare minimum, far lower than any other publication of its kind. So please, subscribe today. We are offering a basic "web only" one-year subscription for $25. For readers in the United States, Canada and China, individuals can gain access to the website and receive a print copy of each issue for only $35 per year. For institutions, the price is $100. For readers residing outside of these three countries, we offer print subscriptions at a nominally higher cost to cover shipping charges. You can subscribe through our website here. Just create a username and password (if you don't already have one), select your subscription type, then proceed with the secure payment through Paypal. Additionally, for those of you who find special value in China Security, donations can be made through our website. For subscribers or supporters who prefer not use the website for payments/donations, please make a check out to the "World Security Institute" and send it to: The World Security Institute 1779 Massachusetts Avenue, N.W. Washington, DC 20036-2109 Please indicate on the check, “China Security Subscription” or “I wish to support the China Security Journal” (Please do NOT make checks out to me.) You can also make a credit card contribution over the phone by contacting Judy Edwards at 202-797-5260. The World Security Institute (WSI) is a 501(c)(3) public charity. Gifts to WSI and its projects are tax deductible, as allowed by law. |
